SUMMARY:Harm Reduction 101
DESCRIPTION:Pozitive Pathways Community Services offers the “What’s Harm Reduction?” training to persons interested in expanding their knowledge of harm reduction, both as a philosophy and set of practical tools. Along with exploring how and why harm reduction approaches have been successful in minimizing the risks associated to drug use, this workshop also provides a detailed overview of the types of drug equipment you will find distributed by needle syringe programs and harm reduction support workers. How do sterile single-use needles minimize the risks of abscesses and blood-borne infections? Why is it important to use brass screens when smoking crack-cocaine? This workshop aims to answer these questions, among many others.\n
