Peer Engagement Questions & Answers

Do I need to be a client of Pozitive Pathways to take part in peer engagement?

No. Our Turning to One Another (TTOA) group is the only program that requires positive HIV status and does not necessarily require the individual to be a client of the agency, though highly recommended.

How do I become a peer in the peer program?

Peer engagement staff provide remote (via phone or zoom) or in-person onboarding for people who wish to join the peer program. The peer program is open to folks with lived experience in HIV, Hepatitis C, substance use, and/or sex work.

For more information or to register, please contact one of our peer engagement coordinators at:
peerengage1@pozitivepathways.com 519-973-0222 ext 121 or
peerengage2@pozitivepathways.com 519-973-0222 ext 123

Are there different requirements to access certain peer programs?

Our Turning to One Another (TTOA) group is the only program that requires positive HIV status. All other peer roles would require lived experience of HIV, Hepatitis C, substance use, and/or sex work.

Who leads the workshops you offer?

Our workshops are led and conducted by knowledgeable and experienced peers who are living with HIV, Hepatitis C, and/or have had experience with sex work and/or experience using substances.

Is there a fee to attend a workshop?

No. All workshops are free to attend and often provide free refreshments.

Do I need to be a peer to attend a workshop?

No, you do not need to be a registered peer to attend a workshop, though workshops aim to share knowledge with those who have lived experience with HIV, Hepatitis C, sex work and/or experience using substances.
