Our youth groups are a safe and affirming social and support group for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, queer, questioning, intersex, 2-spirit, pansexual, asexual (2SLGBTQ+) and allied youth. They are primarily a social group with games, arts and crafts, and fun activities. We promote the health and wellbeing, and empowerment of 2SLGBTQ+ youth. Events and activities are hosted via Zoom weekly, with information and on all group Discord links.
We believe in the strengths and assets of 2SLGBTQ+ young people and encourage youth to gain leadership skills and contribute to both the 2SLGBTQ+ community and the larger Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent communities.
New youth are always welcome and can join on the Discord server. If you are nervous or scared to join any of the groups contact our facilitator, educationm2m2@pozitivepathways.com.
Transitioning Families
We understand that being a parent, guardian or family member of a 2SLGBTQ+ youth can be challenging at times. Transitioning Families is a closed 6 week group for guardians and parents of trans* youth. It runs both in Windsor and Chatham. Throughout the 6 weeks we will talk about language and terminology, medical, legal and social transition, coping strategies, and communication.
For more information about Transitioning Families email educationm2m2@pozitivepathways.com.
If you feel a youth group is not for you, or maybe are uncomfortable in a group setting you can always call the Lesbian Gay Bi Youth Line at 1-800-268-YOUTH (1-800-268-9688) toll free from anywhere in Ontario.
Another great resource for education and support is Rainbow Health Ontario. This is a province-wide program designed to improve access to services and to promote the health of Ontario’s 2SLGBTQ+ communities. To learn more, please visit Rainbow Health Ontario.
